RAF Search & Rescue Patch

I'd be interested to learn if this RAF patch is a fake or original.

And if original, what time period does it date from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From Hansard 23 March 1993 :

That this House regrets the decision of the Ministry of Defence to discontinue search and rescue services from RAF Leuchars with effect from 1st April in spite of the overwhelming case for retention supported by the whole community of North East Fife; acknowledges with gratitude the skill and courage of the officers and men of 22 Squadron and their predecessors who have provided search and rescue from RAF Leuchars since 1955 and to whose professionalism and daring many people owe their lives

Don't know if badge is genuine or a later produced 'commemorative' item.

From memory, there were a number of these badges produced, one for each station that housed a SAR flight. I think 22 Squadron produced something similar too
