Default Cape Town Irish ??

Hi Lads, After your help again, can anyone give me a positive ID on this badge, I know it's been broken but still a lovely badge. I have it labelled as Cape Town Irish in my album, but just wanted to know for sure, thanks again, all the best, Wilf.

Hi,

Your badge is listed in Bosleys catalogue for the 28th April 2010 as: (Lot: 152). Irish Volunteers brass cap badge. Scarce die-stamped brass example. Harp resting in shamrock wreath. Blades. VGC.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Zob.

I've seen a photo of the Cape Town Irish Volunteer Rifles (1885-91) wearing a badge similar to this on their pillbox caps.

Hi Wilf.

I haven't got a clue, apart from the fact it's something Irish.

Just needed a reason to post a reply to say, "Lovely badge".

Regards

Brian

Hi Andrew
Alas no. I saw it in the National Library back in 1993 and made a note of the badge and uniform details, but didn't get a copy.
