Wonderful.

Have you been able to access any surviving Army records and learn something of his movements during that time?

Thanks, JT.

I'd love to know more but have so little info to go on.

LCpl Edward Lawrence was from Eccles, Manchester, served with the Royal Artillery at Reveillon, France and came home unscathed after the war.

That's all I know right now.

All the best

William

Greetings William.

Is there any chance that you can find his Army number or perhaps a middle name, if he had one; reason being that there are a significant number of Edward Lawrences in both The RFA and RHA.

If you can provide anything further, I may be able to narrow it down and hopefully identify him and give you a bit more information.

Regards.

Brian

More info!

Edward Lawrence born in 1884 in Stockport and died in Eccles 11th Jan 1957.

The remains of his damaged Attestation document are attached.

He signed up on 13 Feb 1915, looks like into the RFA - Royal Field Artillery?

Best regards

William

Greetings Edward.

He enlisted on 13th February 1915 and went to France on 29th November 1915.

Below are his Medal Index Card and Service Medal and Award Rolls for his trio.

There is quite a lot of other stuff, marriage, a bit about his service etc.

If you PM me an email address, I'll send it to you.

Regards.

Brian
