Default Military badges, St Lucia??

Hello good people of the forum.
Was there any Army, Defence Force, Regulars,Volunteer or Militia of St Lucia at any time?
If so, are there any cap badges, collar badges shoulder titles or buttons to do with them please?
Your help is appreciated.

Chris

St Lucia Police had a button from 1958-68 with a title change to Royal St Lucia Police in 1968. Not found any military buttons yet.

Yea, I can find no reference to a military unit at all for St Lucia, just the Police, maybe they were there military, or paramilitary force in past and present times?

The St. Lucia Volunteer Corps was raised in 1916. By 1930 it had a Mounted infantry section, a Machine Gun Section and an Infantry Section.

Several nice badges to the unit.

All I can find is a Cadet Corps:

Quote:
Seventy (70) years later, the Cadet movement was introduced to Saint Lucia on July 13, 1929, when a Unit was established at Saint Mary’s College. Its formation was seen as significant – instilling the highest possible level of discipline and character building in the society.
HISTORY OF THE SAINT LUCIA CADET CORPS

Checked CWGC and found details of three members of the St. Lucia Volunteer Force.

Hi Chris

British Colonial Badges shows several of the Volunteers badges on page 57, with Vol II showing several police badges on page 39.

British Colonial Badges, and British Colonial Badges II, both by Renfrew, Renfrew, and Cranston. ISBNs: 978-0-9563175-1-3 and 978-0-9563175-2-0

Hope this helps

Graham
