Default Size Rising Sun AWAS

I am trying to determine what size rising sun badge the Australian Women's Army Service wore on their hats in WW2 - standard hat or collar? I am assuming it would be a bronze one?

Thanks,

Terry

Here's an example of a hat badge being worn.

The AWM has lots of good pics of AWAS uniforms and insignia being worn.

Hi Terry

Just for the record, the large Rising Sun is only used on the slouch hat, the ladies "Slouch Hat" uses the smaller collar sized badge and this badge is used on collars and nurses throat badges in white metal or Silver.

There were also a very few large sized Rising Sun badges in Hall Marked Silver worn only by senior officers.

Regards

Phil.
