Just to clarify Luc that I understood. The photos 3 & 4 I posted are for you from a plastic economy badge made after the war in Belgium ? I saw a dutch in exile bronze OSD that has the same characteristics. I know the Piron Officer badge looks like a dark bronze.

Also the UK made flat lugs you were mentioning in our conversation were n1 right ? https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...1&d=1667000992

Cheers

No, for officers in bronze as Mike says. British made in WW2.

Uk made lugs are rounded on the outside and flat on the inside, as can be found on all 3 badges shown in picture #5 from your post #26.

Post-war Belgium made lugs are made of round copper wire, see attachment.

I have one of these in a white plastic, or similar looking badge because the badges I have don’t appear to have the Tongue! Need to look at what I have, will post a picture when I dig them out, but have you heard of a White plastic badge?

All the best billy

Post-war Belgium plastic cap badges as per attachments, with tongue virgo intacta.

Not quite white but lighter than the British equivalent.

Billy as Luc said plastic economy the big one. They could age whiter with the sun or light probably due to the lack of quality of the plastic.
Here is a photo of a white one in Merville Piron's Bunker. Weird they display a post war one there.

Here is the White plastic where you can on the 2nd picture see a stub of the Tongue.
The next picture doesn’t do the badge justice as it is a lovely Gold Gilded badge, rear has loops.
The remaining are post WW2 with the thin wire! these are awful as break easily! 2 gilt and one W/M.
Also two smaller badges (collars?) W/M the larger and gilt.

Hope this helps and just for confirmation the White Plastic with loops was “post WW2” ??

All the best billy

Thanks Billy, never seen those white plastic type one before. They look like wax or "ceramic" in photo.
Your second badge is great and quite unusual large edges from the back.
From the third one and after looks all post war lugs as you said.

Not related to the Belgian forces in UK

It is the badge of the Belgian ww2 resistance group "Partizanen leger" or in French "armée partisans"
Normally worn on a white or blue armband.

Someone is selling one of those type lugs: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...2&d=1667325773

Claiming that it was worn and distributed to the Piron Brigade in UK (Irish brigade or fusiliers 1944-1946). Also saying he had the same version stamped by Gaunt.
Anyone has ever seen a Gaunt stamped Piron one ?

From the info I gathered + the ones from Luc, those type of lugs were post war.
