1st Bucks Rifle Vol Corps
Have this helmet plate from the 1st Bucks Rifles Vol Corps, been trying to figure out whether the plate would have been used on a helmet or shako, and if it was used on a volunteer grey cloth home service helmet, would it have been hodden grey or "just" gray?
Thanks in advance, |

According to Ray Westlake Tracing the Rifle Volunteers: Uniform grey with scarlet facings.
I think that Hodden Gray was an invention for the London Scottish only.
