Default Unidentified Aviator Wings, or Something Else?

I recently picked up a pair of wings from an old collector's estate sale. The pair of wings were in a large collection of British military badges from WW1, with a few from WW2. I have not seen any like them before, but they must have been in the collection for a reason! Unfortunately the previous owner, and collector has no passed away and the origins are unknown.
My impression is that they resemble the early Austrian, Prussian, and Bulgarian aviator "birds", but then again, they resemble the British Naval albatrosses. I believe they are most likely albatrosses.......... They are 3 inches wide, and have a small pin spot-soldered on the back. They both have the remnants of gold plating in the creases.
Any assistance, opinions, or identifications would be greatly appreciated! I only paid a small amount, so no matter what they are, the investigation has bee worth it.
Cheers, and thanks!

Hello Mark,

Although I can’t identify them, I can confirm that they are defiantly not RNAS

Best Wishes

Hi

Pin back fixing looks Continental if that helps so your supposition as to their origin may be correct. Can I also suggest French or Italian?

They do have a slightly less than detailed look suggesting that they were not necessarily made by a regular badge maker.

Interesting nonetheless!

I am working on the direction of the distinct possibility that they may be "patriotic" tinnie's of some sort. It is strange that I have two, and I can find absolutely nothing that compares........ They both look worn, and in pretty decent shape. Now I'll head down the French and Italian route. Maybe I'll get lucky! Thanks for the great suggestions.
