Default Scots Guards

ThoughtI would share this with you, -If only badges could talk!

All came together, amazing shape! Regards pips, has anyone ever done any research into them, the variation in manufacture, the colours and in the case of these with the Thistle never looked too closely before but now I want to check out if Irish Regimental Rank Pips have a Shamrock? All the best billy

Billy,

they all appear to be Scots Guards and not Royal Scots.

regards

Hi Billy,
As mentioned, they are indeed all Scots Guards badges and likely pre ww2 with those two piece mounted buttons.
The bronze Order of the Thistle rank pips would be worn with OSD or sometimes appeared on BD blouses during the war.
The cap badge can be cleaned if so desired. I would recommend it in order to halt the verdigris from building up too much.
Also, the Irish Guards Order of St. Patrick rank stars do feature a tiny Shamrock in the center.
