WHICH VERSION CAP BADGES TO COLLECT
I'm interested in collecting Scottish Regimental cap badges, plus British Foot Guards ones, and notice there are quite a few variations of each badge on Ebay. Does anyone know where the original pattern drawings can be seen ie can I visit some museum or other to see what the originals looked like? Thanks.

Welcome, these two books might be helpful:
Scottish Regimental Badges, 1793-1971 by Bloomer, W. H. & Bloomer, K. D. and Badges of the Highland & Lowland Regiments (including Volunteer & Territorial Battalions) Bloomer, William & Kathleen More books here: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/bo...bliography.htm Rgds, Thomas |

Another tip - Dont buy them of ebay if you dont know anything about badges as 90% are fakes!!!
There are very reputable people on there, I am one, but too many to try and list and we are in a very small minority. Buy from dealers websites. Lots of threads on here as to who you can trust. regards

Are you sure that 90% of military badges sold on E-bay are fake.
Sounds a bit excessive to me. Just saying..... You may wish to review that statement. |

I think Simon is not right on his 90% fake statement, for special forces items its likely higher than 90%!
