It looks strange to me as well!
The photo is not good here the KSLI isn’t cast I just checked the sheared edge with scope, but the whole thing looks dull detail and has a strange slider?

The slider has just been clipped by the wearer. I have some badges that have been done the same. I think the badge is ok, just not a typical 'crisp' example.

Beep beep
The KSLI isn’t showing cast it’s some patination and flat from a die on the back, I need a camera with microscope so I can get clear photos of the sheared edge

It looks a bit big for a cap if it has to be transported in a wagon.
