No these wings were worn by ex rfc pilots in WW2, often by Home Guard. Regards steve

WWII RFC wings
Well, this is a learning curve, I was not aware the Home Guard wore RFC wings, but it makes sense to me now.

As mentioned, they would not be 'issue', but later private purchase. When many former RFC served again they wore RFC wings - in cadet forces, Home Guard, Civil Defence, Royal Observer Corps, etc. In many cases there were no rules about the wearing of them, but they were allowed as long as they 'checked out', the same going for the 'O' wing.
Those produced during the late 30s, or WW2 are usually pretty distinct. On that note, I'd agree that of Robs above, the top set have been altered from an RAF wing, while the middle set are hand made, probably theatre made. A similar story is the RAF wing on khaki, which was worn by Home Guard, cadet officers and the like. Any Army officer who was qualified to wear the RAF wing should have worn it on dark blue.
