That's lovely, interesting the way the foliage runs down the badge from the top, if it wasn't for the badge you could be forgiven for thinking the brooch was upside down.

Alli, I think you may be correct the badge is mounted on the brooch could be the silversmiths aprentice brazed it on upside down.

Aah well makes it all the more interesting then, I have to confess I did turn my laptop upside down earlier to look at it!

A lot of stunning examples of the art on here, great to see them.
I have a few but mine are nearly all converted from issue badges into sweethearts. This one arrived today for the Monmouthshire regiment, pre c. early 1920's. It has a pin and catch fitted to the rear and you can see clearly where the slider has been cutoff.

Two badge conversions for the RWF, one converted from a c. WWI OR's cap badge and the other from an officers OSD collar.

Greetings Lads & Lasses,
I just wanted to share a recent find that came in the post yesterday. Another KSLI Sweetheart, similar to another example I have and by the same maker but this one seems to be a little nicer quality. Nicely marked to the rear 'TLM' (and sterling) for Thomas Lynton Mott of Vyse Street Birmingham. Marking suggests a date of 1918 to 1932. Cheers, Roy.

This is currently on EBay right now, way out of my price range!
Nicest sweetheart I've seen, ever. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281571064484...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |

Wasn't there one like that on the antiques road show a couple of years ago.
