Not a common medal, Mike, I would be happy with that.

Default ZAR sweethearts

Since the ZAR was blockaded from Oct 1899 and ceased to exist in June 1900, it seems that this was could not have been made in 1900 for sale in the ZAR. Kruger visited Europe in 1900 to try to rally external intervention into the ABW, so I wonder whether this could have been made for sale to Boer sympathisers e.g. in Holland, France and Germany?

It is called free enterprise and certainly nothing new, the basic concept is actually very old, for example, a large portion of the Little Corporal's army marched throughout Peninsular wearing boots made in Northampton.

I've also never seen TSA collars, I didn't even know there was such a thing. Thanks for showing them.
Cheers,

It is a very handsome piece of Jewellery, although, it is certainly interesting to wonder who commissioned it and how many more pieces were made.
British manufacturers also made badges and accoutrements for both the ZAR and OFS Governments.

Westley Richards also made Martini Henry rifles ("Made Specially for ZAR") which proved quite useful for shooting British troops.

Good Day Everyone...…

You may all come and visit me in the Cardiac Ward of the Foothills Hospital...… That is after I get up off the floor...…
I have been watching this on eBay and am floored with what it sold for especially without case...…
Will have to scroll down a bit......

It certainly is, I think rather too much, notwithstanding, both the old Boer republics coat of arms were very attractive.

Never seen a Stg Silver one before, no doubt a sweetheart badge. I have always wondered why they were made in brass as well as WM, both large and smaller size.

Some time back I did a little study of the TSA and drew this poster in an effort to illustrate the rank system / insignia. It may be of interest.

Default TSA Regt HQ photos

Some photos of the TSA HQ (Green Magazine) Pretoria. These were taken in 2005. The Regt has a small museum at their HQ and the photos show some of the displays.
