I am not sure where Luc is but, in my opinion. this badge is genuine having the classic die flaw. It does however, appear to have lost its beak.

the beak is still there, just a case of a manufacturing fault with the stamping.

Marinus, I believe it to be a genuine badge.

As Simon says it is the classic type with die flaw. Yours has the worst flaw I have ever seen, wonderful!

I was the underbidder.

@Tarabelle: the King's crown badge you show is a well known replica I'm afraid.

I think there are a lot of "doubtful" AAC badges offered there.

That type was made in North Africa and is quite difficult to find.

That is actually quite nice, although, it has not been struck as it should, as a glance at the crown shows in the reverse photograph.

Another post from me to this thread.
Please allow me to share the other AAC badges I currently own.
Two of them I bought on the web recently and the other one almost 40 years ago in a museum.
