Unknown Cap Badge - Dragon?

Hello,
I'm new to this sort of thing and from what I've worked out this is a cap badge (I might be wrong on that?) but I don't know the purpose of it or how it may have got into the family.

I think there are battles named and dated on the badge, possibly all WWI?
I could try and post clearer pictures for some more help. Sorry, I don't know much else.
