Border Regt - sweetheart badge
Gents, this sweethearts badge is a larger size and looks ok from the front, however I'm not sure about the back and the Gaunt maker Mark's. Any thoughts chaps?

Hello, Gaunt did make badges other than those associated with a purely military use. You can find example of enamel badges they produced on line. I would be happy with it as a brooch. I take it the name on the bottom is j r gaunt and son london? Is that a loop on the crown? The pin itself would seem to date to about 1930 onward,https://www.realorrepro.com/article/...ooch-fasteners. Sorry I can't help you more.

Thanks Billy, I guessed it was post war. What made be concerned was the poor Gaunt mark.
Yes there is loop for a chain or security clasp at the top. |
