Hi all, have posted this badge before, it’s damaged but how where these badges affixed onto headdress?

Would it be wrong to fit mounting lugs as no indication of ever having them? would this be detrimental to badges authenticity?

Thanks for any guidance you may give me, appreciated as always billy

Billy,

It would then become a repaired badge and be worth less.

Are you also going to try and repair its damaged bugle horn too?

Its not a rare badge, the 8th LRVC seems to pop up more than any other in Lancs for some reason.

The cost and end result would not in my opinion be worth it or beneficial.

regards

Thanks Simon, thanks for your thoughts, is it meant to have fixings? Will keep as it is, can see what it is meant to look like! Appreciate your help, billy

I suspect if you look closely you’ll find scars/remanents of the loops in the areas indicated.

No, there's nothing and that's the stain from the solder that was there previously.
