It is a Norfolk Yeomanry cap badge undoubtedly of WW1 vintage.

Bodill Parker & Co were awarded multiple ‘metal badge’ contracts by the WO in 1915, 1916 and 1917. The source for this is the Board of Trade Labour Gazette 1914-19.

Their mark is found on a plethora of other military badges of WW1 vintage inc. DLI, Liverpool Pals, Yorkshire Regiment, Royal Irish Rifles, Machine Gun Corps etc.

Lastly I have seen an exceptionally clear and close up studio portrait from WW1 of a Norfolk Yeomanry trooper wearing what was undoubtedly a BP&Co badge. The shape of the crown with the tall orb is quite distinctive and different from the contemporary Gaunt die of the period.

When I find the pic I’ll post it for you.
