Default Highland Light Infantry

I was thinking of tracking down a HLI badge as my grandfather served with them in the 1920's.

I've been looking on eBay and noticed that there were a significant number available (especially given the relatively short history of the regiment). I then came across a seller selling 10 x NOS badges for £65.

These 10 badges do look rather shiny given that they would have been sitting around for the last 60 years following the disbandment of the regiment as a single entity.

I'm presuming that they are modern reproductions, restrikes or fakes?

Impossible to say without detailed photos, but I would be suspicious about this.

I presume that it's okay to post a link to the sale?

I ask, as I wanted to check first as I'm new to the forum and wouldn't want to get booted off within the first 24 hours of joining.

Very modern. The seller is a well known seller of repros.

That’s them. I’m pretty shocked at how blatantly misadvertised they are. I guess there’s a much steeper learning curve to badge collecting than I first anticipated.

Thanks for your help guys.

As said, those 10 aren’t good and seller not reputable ,I had a quick eBay search and there are a few ok ones for sale, I can’t work out how to add the link from my iPhone : ! Hopefully someone can show some good ones for sale, also a member may have a spare for sale if you ask about , no doubt some of the more reputable online dealers may have ones for sale, worth asking on here first.

If the original poster wants a badge which was the same as the one his relative would have worn the he needs a kings crown one which are actually far more common that the q/c versions.

Thanks guys. I've just posted up a WTB on the appropriate page as I'm aware that I'm pretty much out of my depth when it comes to discerning authenticity on a lot of the badges that are listed on eBay.
