It's his Grandfathers cypher, not his own.

Dave.

Is this official, or another possible version from the media? If it is official, I like it. A bit different from others. The KC is back.

"On 26 September 2022, Buckingham Palace unveiled the cypher of the new king, Charles III, that will gradually replace the cypher of Elizabeth II in everyday use. The design was selected by Charles from a series of designs prepared by the College of Arms and features the King's initial "C" intertwined with the letter "R" for Rex with "III" denoting Charles III, with a Tudor Crown above the letters. Charles's Scottish cypher uses the Scottish Crown instead."
Wikipedia was updated this morning with the text above.

Well the good news is that the Army is so small and there are much fewer cap badges than 20 years ago!

The MoD will no doubt be clearing their stocks of obsolete EIIR QC badges etc., with dealers flooding the market with their redundant MoD auction bulk buys.

Dave.

Possibly although I suspect that under RAB the stocks are not large and will be wasted out.

Dave.
At last, I won’t need to spend months tracking down EIIR cyphers to complete shoulder boards to finish off a display.

The Grenadier Guards will need a new design, cypher and possibly crown, but I wonder if the Scots Guards will continue with the Queens/Scottish crown?

Interestingly, the Garter King of Arms has said publicly that there is no requirement for "organisations" to change the design of their current Crown and Cypher. It is a matter for them to decide.

Sounds like a tacit statement that expenses are recognized and changes not necessary?
I for one look forward to seeing the changes coming up as the new cypher is very nice. The GG comes to mind, along with Guards drum majors, Warders of the Tower etc. A very interesting time for insignia buffs.
