Default Scottish Rifles Help Appreciated

I have seen on a dealers website the following:

Cameronians Scottish Rifles Officer's bronze glengarry badge
A fine and scarce large pattern die stamped bronze example. Two loops to the reverse.

Can any Forum member tell me when this badge would have been worn. Would it have been worn during WWI.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated, as I know nothing!

Kind regards, Malcolm.

Malcolm.

I would expect a WW1 officer badge to be silver. The ORs badge in 1900 were blackened brass on loops.

Alan.

Many thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated.

I have been looking for a hallmarked silver badge for some time without success. I thought maybe I had found an alternative! But I could not find any evidence myself that a bronze badge existed for officers worn during WW1.

Kind regards, Malcolm.

As mentioned, the OR badge was blackened around the turn of the century, but not the officer's. There was another badge worn by the adjutants called a "cheese cutter", a small badge that is sometimes seen blackened.
I do not know of any "bronzed" badges to the Cameronians.
I have seen badges wherein the blackening has been worn or polished off and subsequently attained a patina appearing very much like bronze.
