18th Hussars
Hi All
I would welcome members opinions on the 18th Hussars badge on sale with Dead Spartan. I am completely undecided? https://deadspartan.co.uk/photos/76313.jpg Thanks Ian |

I never do well at trying to get one of these, they seem to be very rare!

Cavalry regts were quite small and as the badge was only worn for a few years we are talking about 100's of badges being made.
Apart from the lugs and the poor definition the square void above the scroll is an obvious difference. Last edited by Alan O; 27-05-23 at 10:38 AM. |

It is not an other ranks badge in my opinion. An officers cap or collar?

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but here is my example, is this ok? I have no idea what the grey on the back is, looks like solder but there is no repair?
Cheers, Alex |

It is not a great photo but this shows the 18th Hussars with the offficer's large cap and collars being worn before WW1.
