Default 1905 Natal Field Artillery Pouch

Hi

I acquired this earlier this year, thought you might like to see it.

Made by Hobson & Sons (1905 OR 1906 date stamp in leather is not clear but leans towards 1905) London.

Hi Brian,

Wow! what a beauty..

Looks cracking on the pouch, the gilt shows up lovely against the backdrop of the aged leather. Outstanding and well done.

Cheers, Roy.

Nice Brian, not often you get them now without the gilding partially worn away and the patent leather cracked.

Hello Brian,
Where on earth would the Colony of Natal, it's Volunteers and Militia have been without Hobson, I dare say dressed like ragamuffins in the gutter.
Very nice indeed, a really superb example of the badge.
Regards Frank

Thanks guys, these items not often seen sadly. A fellow local collector knows my NFA passion and kindly offered it to me at a reasonable price.

I have not seen another NFA with screws before. To be honest the picture flash actually makes the badge look more gold than it is, however it is in great condition.

Apologies for lack of visits lately to this nice site, but I was away for half a month touring the country (5600 km on the road, equivalent to driving from Vancouver in Canada to Florida in the USA!). The "coal face" and "home front" have taken up a huge part of my time since returning. Will get back to the normal routine shortly. Sadly not many pickings on the trip, quality and even common militaria is drying up in the small towns and villages (dorp's) we call them out here.

I had an NFA badge and gave it to a pal who had an NFA-marked Webley revolver from the ABW, because they went together and I thought he'd be pleased with the pairing.
Well, the pal sold the revolver and hasn't given me back the badge, despite me hinting very bluntly that I think he should do so.
Q1: What are the ethics of this situation? (30 marks)
Rob
