Isn'i this similar to, if not actually, an RA officer's full dress shoulder belt fitment (tip)? Is it gilt and what rear fastenings does it have?

yes you are correct, however it was also worn in whitemetal and gilt as a Shako Badge of the South Australian Volunteer Artillery bc |
