Default Badge ID

Didier,

The badge is that of a Sergeant in the Belgian Army. It is the style that was worn post-WWII and up until, I think, the 1980s. Belgian Army NCO ranks were worn on the forearms above the cuffs and angled inwards at 30 degrees, the single stripe being uppermost. This khaki badge was worn on the left cuff of the field uniform (battledress blouse); thinner, silver braid rank badges were worn on the cuffs of the other uniforms.

Am I right in thinking these 'Belgian' rank badges look like British Sergeant Stripes, possibly cut in half, or with part folded under?

It would be useful to know dimensions please.

Thanks
Mike

Quite possible, Mike. OTOH, Wydean weaving will cheerfully sell you a 100 foot roll of that braid anytime you pony up the lolly.

So these may have started life as chevrons or not. Hard to say without the example in hand. Agreed, though, that the dimensions would help answer the question.
