Default Task Force 1-08 (Operation Athena Rotation 5)Afgan Tour Patch

A big shout out to the Regimental Padre of the Seaforth Highlanders who had promised to send me an example of the patch he wore during his tour in Afghanistan. I had long ago forgot your promise and am elated to receive your patch in the mail today. Thank you very much Major Short.

Task Force 1-08 OMLT (Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team) Operation Athena Rotation 5 is documented in the attached Wikipedia link.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Task_F..._Rotation_5.29

The link is great as you can look up each rotation and get an idea as to when and who was there at a specific time.

The patch is I believe Canadian-made, without Velcro.. Thanks again Jim!

Regards,

Greg

Hi Greg, Is the backing on the patch a plastic material?

Hi Bill, yes it's impregnated plastic and meant to be sewn on.

Hi Greg, I have found that backing to be characteristic of Canadian made patches over the last decade, maybe a bit longer. Not to say off shore makers use the same type of backing.
