Default Household Cavalry Salute?

The recent video of the Household Cavalry at Windsor saluting HRH Prince Philip left me wondering why only the officers gave a salute. Is that standard regulations or something to do with funerary custom?

Just curious.

Haven’t see the footage, however it is standard practice in the British army that when troops are in a formed body or on a formal parade only the senior officer or NCO within the cohort will salute on behalf of the group.

Thank you! Thinking about it now, I should have deduced that from all the footage I've seen from parades!
