Out of my period, but I understand the connection of the slider with the lightning forks was bent to the angle of the forks- hard to explain. Not sure if die stamped was more usual. Looks a standard slider, the correct/usual slider would be appear pointed at the bend.

I think this fitting is described in post #2.

I'm sure that flat bent sliders are ok too, it just makes the badge slightly more fragile.
