I believe this PC is wearing a helmet badge issued between 1906 and 1936. Can anyone narrow the date of the photo from the buttons which seem to be black horn with rose centre topped by crown? or were the buttons issued for the time period of the badge?

The dates you give are more or less correct, with the buttons falling into the same time frame.
