Default Scottish Yeomanry

Placed 2 photo of cloth badges in album and gallery worn prior to metal badge
Both have different colours to the lion rampant any reason ?? different dates or just manufactures variations
Re officers embroidered beret badge I have only seen these with the title in the scroll In a article by Andy Plewa and acknowledgement to the quartermaster [a captain] ''the base scroll bears no title '' Has any one a photo of this type

I was told that the first badge, yellow Lion was not heraldically correct therefore the red one was produced.

Officers Scottish Yeomanry with title, can't see why one without the title would be produced - except to reduce cost! The yellow lion looks more like a teddy bear!

Soldiers beret badge worn on the SCOTS DG grey beret, yellow lion.

This was apparently a temporary measure pending manufacture of a metal badge worn on a black backing.

Both the officer bullion beret badge and cloth OR beret badges are rare beasts these days. Both quite hard to find.

I'm also still looking for a pair of B (Lanarkshire and Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry) Squadron and also the OR's cloth badge with the red lion.

Quite a bargain IMHO.

I think I have only ever seen a couple of badges for sale in 10 or so years.

I think it was the other way round and the red lion was heraldically incorrect?
