Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
Hi
Picked up yesterday this anodised cap badge for Military Academy Sandhurst and wondered if this badge was / is worn by Officer cadets or staff. I hope someone can help with my question and any other info. Thanks Rob |

This badge is worn by the Officer cadets and I beleive that staff would wear thier own unit badges. The Acadamey RSM wore a Bullion version of this badge. There is also a silvered and a wm version of the badge both with KC & QC as well as a belt badge with lugs.

Hi Jerry
Thank you for your info and for taking the time to post. Can I ask would this still be the current issue of the badge. Cheers Rob |

Yes it is the current issue. I have given a couple of spares out to former students over the years who have headed for Sandhurst. Our PSI at 87 Sqdn in the early 90s was a former instructer at Sandhurst and he wore his Signals badges. To be posted there was a premium posting.

I would imagine that every officer cadet is issued with at least one if not two badges. If they train at least 500 officers a year from the UK and overseas that is quite a lot of badges. They do turn up regularly and I suppose there are many that are kept as momentoes.

In the 1990s it was one for beret, one for peaked cap, one lugged for No1 dress badge and one painted black for field wear.
