Hants TF cadets in Brodricks
A first for me. This is Portsmouth GS cadet corps wearing Brodricks. I have not seen any cadets wearing them before and it is rare to see TF's wearing them.

Is this an example of military economy in that caps no longer being worn by the regular army were issued to cadets?
There must have been thousands of Broderick caps left unused when the dress regulations were changed. It is of course possible that some were sent back to the manufacturers to have peaks attached, but it was probably not economical, and most were reissued or sold off. |

Morning
Not to my knowledge. I don't think hey were reissued with peaks but binned as they are a different construction to the peaked cap. The coloured oval for example was not on the post 1905 caps. Alan |

I think you’re right about Army caps, but interestingly the Royal Marines did attach peaks to their Brodrick caps for a period until they were replaced, although that was decades after they were abandoned by the Army.
