Default OSD Bronze Cap Badges on the Green Beret

Does anyone know if the OSD 2 part cap badge was ever worn on the green beret by RM Commandos during WW2?
It's hard to tell in the CVA galleries, but they all look too shiny to be bronze. Also, all the attributed officers' berets I've ever seen have had silver and gilt badges.
Thanks
Paul

RM Circular 14/8/1943 states:

'With reference to RM Circular No.3562/42.Q dated 1 July 1943, all RM officers and other ranks in SS Force will wear a green beret in lieu of the RM Blue beret.

2. The badge to be worn by Officers in the green beret will be as laid down for the blue beret in the above quoted circular. all other ranks will wear cap badge OR'.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RM Circular of 1 July 1943 (I guess RM Circular No.3562/42.Q above) refers to RM Circulars No.5159/41.Q of 21/7/41 and 28/7/41 when addressing the introduction of Blue berets to the Corps; and in respect of the: wear of cap badge for Officers (other than Colonel and above), it states:
'Corps Cap Badge (Officers) on scarlet patch, the bottom of the crown being a quarter of an inch above top of globe'

We therefore need to find RM Circulars No.5159/41.Q of 21/7/41 and 28/7/41 to see what they say about which Officer badges (ie was OSD Bze included) were worn in the Blue beret, as the practice adopted in the blue beret (less the scarlet patch) appears to have been replicated in the Green beret.

Separate subsequent provisions relate to plastic economy issue;
also
RMRO 208/1944 from 17 September 1943 'for the wearing by Officers of 'Other Ranks' cap badges ... in the blue beret, pending receipt ... of Officer pattern badges'

I am struggling to find RM Circulars No.5159/41.Q of 21/7/41 and 28/7/41 - Any help appreciated! I am sure this is where the answer lies.

Mike

Thanks Mike
As ever a thorough considered response. Let's hope it stimulates further discussion and who know may even turn up the referenced RM Circulars
