Default Great War Canadian Insignia ID..?

Hi Chaps,

I have this original photograph of a WWI Canadian Motor Cyclist. As you can see from the enlarged image one can see collars, metal shoulder title and cloth ST.

Can anyone extrapolate his unit from this blurred image.?

Cheers,

Roy

It looks like your man is wearing a machine-gun collar shown in the CEF section as Babin 31-2.He also wear a metal shoulder title but also an unusual cloth shoulder title....as you already mentioned.

Thanks for that Jo,

With him being a Motor Cyclist that makes sense.

I am intrigued by the cloth ST though, I wonder if anyone has any ideas?

To my eyes it could say 'Motor Machine Gun Corps'..!

Cheers,

Roy

It certainly looks like Motor Machine Gun Corps. The Canadian MMG Bde was known to wear that cloth shoulder title.

Thanks Bill,

Looks like it's a reasonably solid ID.

It would be nice to see an example if someone has one in their collection?

I have just added the full image to my album, link below.
