I didn’t get that impression at all when in hand. Condition is a little rough but nice un-messed with original Grand Mere para beret.

Here is a photo of the beret showing the inside of the brass grommet, is it like yours cw2311

Not at all.

I have now handled 6 Canadian “put together” para berets and taken detailed pictures and written a summary of my findings for each. I suspect it could be the same craftsman, considering several were done in exactly the same manner. Some have had war time cap badges added in an attempt to mislead a prospective buyer. None of them were sold cheap, all in excess of $1000, which only spells one thing to me. Now perhaps they have changed hands several times or they may have been sold by the craftsman himself. We can only speculate on that.
