MTL in a Laurel Wreath Cap badge
In May 1944 SHAEF’s Psychological Warfare Division asked for a cap badge for the civilians from the BBC and Ministry of Information serving with the Division which would be worn with a uniform in Europe. The resulting badge as shown was later adopted by a wide range of uniformed civilians.
The War Office noted at the time that it had already authorised the letters ‘MTL’ in a laurel wreath as a cap badge for the personnel of Military Technical Liaison, a SHAEF intelligence unit. Has anyone ever seen an example of this MTL badge? Jon |

No help with the MTL query, but the insignia on the shoulder strap, is that a charging elephant? 11th Armoured Div's charging bull?

Difficult to be certain but appears to be the "OR" version of the Civilian Mil(itary) Gov(ernment) title.
