Kapurthala Imperial Service Infantry
I know that this is a long shot but would anybody have a picture or photo' of the cap/puggeree/topee badge that would have been worn by a Sepoy/Sowar of the above Victorian Indian Regiment? Or.. the badge that would have been worn by Victorian Sikh Regiments if this differs. Thanks in advance for any help.

Book reference
Hi Lampwick,
I'm pretty sure the cap badge you want is shown in the following book: Military badges of the British Empire 1914-18 by Reginald H,W.Cox. The badge is number 2653 in the book. I don't have the book otherwise I would have posted a picture. It was published in the 1980s and our county library service in the UK still has in on the selves, so it shouldn't be too difficult to track down a copy. Good hunting. Alan. |

Looks to be just a sketch for that badge and no date of intro. given, so might not be the image for Victorian use? Cheers, Paul.
