Graham,
Good eye, you got it! But the shemagh is GREEN and WHITE! Clay |

This is so frustrating. I've known for some time the shemagh was green and white but how I wish for a good clear colour photo. There are so many shades of green.
I have this one, but David Neild says it is not RAKMF. Eddie |

RAK Police headdress badge
Good evening
Having bought David Neild’s autobiography some time ago I recently bought “The Parting Years: A British Family and the End of Empire” by Sheila Bevan, widow of the late Trevor Bevan who served as a policeman in various parts of the dwindling Empire, and is shown in David Neild's book whilst Chief of the Ras al Khaimah Police. I thought this passage describing the headdress badge might be of particular interest. All the best Graham

Ras Al Khaimah Mobile Force button
This Ras Al Khaimah Mobile Force button uses the same watchtower design as the cap and collar badges. It is gold-colour anodised aluminium, 19mm in diameter. The maker's backmark is 'Hobsons London'.

Whilst reading the book the author mentions being interviewed by Peter Snow.
Great footage of the unit. https://youtu.be/Zlj0DLUuOb8?si=lViIrpJjZPub1nF2 |
