Default Arab Legion, Royal Jordan Army cloth badges

Hi Guys

I am trying to make sense of the various cloth badges worn by the Arab Legion and the post 1956 Royal Jordan Army. The only printed source seems to be Osprey's Men at Arms 128, Arab Armies of the Middle East Wars 1948-73.

I am wondering if anybody has any they would part with or indeed any photos, preferable IDed?

The three groups I am looking at are:

The cloth slip on loops worn by Infantry battalions under the AL title.

The cloth titles worn by supporting arms

And the cloth arm patches worn, mostly by higher formations

Any help would be most gratefully received

Default Arab Legion shoulder titles

First post here, I've been looking for some help with identifying some badges, but before I make a knowledge withdrawal I'll try an add some credit.

For the regiment / battalion loops below is the list I have manage to identify, unfortunately the one you show is not on there. I agree it is hard to piece this together, I find the IWM online collections a good source, if you search by Jordan or Arab Legion, based on what comes up the more you tweak the search the more comes up.

I have a couple of examples (2nd and 7th) which I will post - probably over the weekend, I have a few shoulder flash and formation badges, all but one identified which I will also post.

Steve.

Default Arab Legion shoulder titles

Hi, my first post here, need some help with some badges but before I make a knowledge withdrawal I’ll try an add some credit.

Below is a list of shoulder titles I have managed to identify so far. As you say refence material is thin on the ground, I’ve found the IWM on line collection useful. I have a some examples which I will post -probably over the weekend.

Unfortunately the one you show is not on my list.

I have some should titles and unit patches also.
Steve.

I would agree with all those on your list.

The shoulder loop I posted is the Jordanian Royal Engineers.

Thanks for the info, I got three of them with some other Jordanian stuff so made the assumption they were Jordanian.

I recently bought a collection of 1960s Jordanian patches that came from a collection the US military posting in Amman, I'll begin posting to build the reference up.

Yellow and dark blue- Supply and Transport shoulder title and shoulder slide

Maroon or Burgundy - Medical, shoulder title (this is faded, the original colour can be seen in Eddie's first post) and shoulder slide

Green/White National Guard shoulder slide -this was a local civilian / reserve attached to the JAA but had serving NCOs
