Can anyone advise why the two colours please

They both look like Stokes buttons, and I don't know of any other manufacturer of these solid anodized aluminium buttons.
I also have them in distinctly gold and silver, and then some that are a colour that is neither.
The colour I've described as 'neither' looks silver, until you place it near a silver button, so you think maybe it's gold, until you place it near a gold button.
They probably would not stand out if used as a complete set on a uniform, but if used as a single replacement it would look very odd.
