Unless I’m very much mistaken that badge is from a different die to the one being discussed here.

As per posts #4, 7 & 11 the steel pin fixings are for the moment a safe bet for a genuine badge however originals did come with loop fixings too so shouldn’t be discarded out of hand.

Yes, I am aware that badges with lugs (loops) are also extent, however they can be harder to discern from the fakes.
I think a brooch fitting to match the originals would be a bit difficult for the fakers, so they are likely safe for "the moment".

Not only was there not an economy version but 1914-19 TS badges were all bought by the regiment. It was not until 1938 and the re-raising of the unit that the cap badges (lugged) were issued by the WD.
