ROYAL CORPS OF TRANSPORT OFFICERS CAP

Thought I'd show my latest find. It's an Officers peaked cap to the RCT. I would assume it started life with a RASC badge ???
Is it possible to tell the Officers rank by the Gold Braid.
Any comments most welcome.
