Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges
I bought today what I think are a pair of Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges in staybrite, they have a green backing the like of which I have never seen before due to the fixing.
Firstly, are they Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges? Secondly, is this type of backing fixture unique to Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges? Your comments appreciated. Rob |

Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges
Alan, having looked up in Major Edwards book I can see these collars are similar to Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges but the star is above the crescent as opposed to these badges.
Many thanks for your help. Rob |

I was wondering whether they might be Turkish? However with the green backing maybe Morroco? Alan |

Berkshire Yeomanry collar badges
Alan, these badges are very well made and I have never seen the backing held in position such as these are.
Turkish, Morrocan, maybe Omani? I'm sure some of the members who collect Middle Eastern badges will know. Regards Rob |

Rob,
I'm sure these are Pakistan Army rank badges used for the ranks of major and above; they replace the 'crown' where used in officer ranks in Britain and other Commonwealth countries. They look cast on the reverse, a common feature of Pakistani badges. George |

George,
Thanks for your thoughts, I am sure you are correct, the star and crescent do seem to be used with Pakistan insignia. Rob |
