Default Lt J King 59th Regt

Is there an expert on the 19th Century British Army who could tell me anything about a Lieutenant J King (described as J King Esq) of Her Majesty's 59th Regiment who would have been serving in Hong Kong in 1850?

His name (as rider) and regiment feature on a large silver cup awarded to the owner of a horse named Great Western that won the Celestial Cup in Hong Kong in 1850. The owner was related to my brother in law (who currently owns the cup).

Many thanks. Mike
