What would the occasion be that they're marching with the Guidon but without arms? Church parade?

Bronzed buttons - Royal regiment cap - dark shirt and tie.
Could be an officer from the Royal Welsh recently transferred - got the crimson trousers!

I think that they might be brown leather buttons and a regimental tradition inherited from one of the forebear regiments, now worn only on SD by officers of field rank. As he’s leading the parade I imagine that he’s the CO. I recall reading about a between Wars cavalry regiment having the tradition of wearing such buttons but I can’t remember which it was.
