Default tallest man

Captain Lindsay Fitzgerald Hay Royal Highlanders.
At 6ft 11 1/2 inches was he the tallest man in the British army?

Roy

I don't know if he was the tallest but he would certainly present as a great target in the trenches.

Wasn't Maj-Gen Sir Colin Muir Barber (Camerons) around the 7' mark? If so, would explain why he excelled at track and field events...
