Default 78th Foot Highlanders

Hi,

I recently picked up this supposedly Victorian glengarry badge. I'm aware that these were being reproduced (or re-struck) from a very early period, and so I'm keen to be educated here as to the likelihood of being lucky enough to have a good'un. The only point I would like to make is that I cannot find another on the internet that has the same 'two tone' appearance of this example, and wonder if it's a definite clue that this is 'not good'. Many thanks.

It’s been artificially aged, most of which has been rubbed off on the front.

I’m no glengarry collector so can’t tell you what makes a good one but I can spot a modern copy (artificial ageing, footed lugs etc etc) and afraid that is one.

Cheers,
Luke

I was suspicious about that and value the input. Cheers Luke.
