78th Foot Highlanders
Hi,
I recently picked up this supposedly Victorian glengarry badge. I'm aware that these were being reproduced (or re-struck) from a very early period, and so I'm keen to be educated here as to the likelihood of being lucky enough to have a good'un. The only point I would like to make is that I cannot find another on the internet that has the same 'two tone' appearance of this example, and wonder if it's a definite clue that this is 'not good'. Many thanks. |

It’s been artificially aged, most of which has been rubbed off on the front.
I’m no glengarry collector so can’t tell you what makes a good one but I can spot a modern copy (artificial ageing, footed lugs etc etc) and afraid that is one. Cheers, Luke |

I was suspicious about that and value the input. Cheers Luke.
