Default Middlesex Officers Badge

Afternoon all, it's been a while so thought I'd drop by with greetings and a pic of a nice little Middlesex badge I was given on my Birthday today. It's a nice thing I thought, and I'm not sure I have one on blades so I was pleased to receive it.
I hope you are all keeping safe and well and looking forward to the Christmas break. Miss you all 😊

Absolutely, it actually looks a little nicer in the flesh, got a really good patina to it, sweet little find I thought.
Thought of you yesterday Frank, I was at Duxford and remembered you telling me the story behind the Messerschmitt crash.
I had a lucky day yesterday, was given a "backstage" tour and got up close and personal with PL983, the Thank You NHS Spitfire. It was all very exciting. But nice that you popped up in my thoughts.

Are you going to be a socially distanced Mr's Claus this year?

I expect so. Had the most socially distanced visit from the local Rotary Santa last night, I heard a quick blast of We Wish You A Merry Christmas, by the time I'd got to the window the sleigh was a mere blur of light as Father Christmas disappeared into the distance like Lewis Hamilton on a new set of tyres. Tres sad.

Perhaps an Elf is needed to keep you company?
Anyway, it is a shame the blade is absent from the Middlesex, but, still for free!

Surely that would be a breach of Elf and Safety??
Yes it is a shame but I don't think it detracts terribly, it is what it is as they say.

I suppose it would depend on the tier level and location concerned and what temporary future Christmas rules apply.
I always remember a school trip to Belgium, I was terribly impressed by the conduct 4th Middlesex in August 1914, they took a very considerable and disproportionate toll upon the enemy.

Absolutely, my grandad was 4th Middlesex, and had a bit of a time of it in 1915 before injury, then returning to the front with East Surreys.

Indeed, Londoner's, big black moustaches and fifteen aimed rounds per minute!
