Default Whats the one badge / medal that you have always wanted but never have got?

Is there a badge or medal that you have always wanted and can never get?

Share it here!

If another forum member has it (and will never ever part with it) please post a pic so we can all be envious.

Hi Dan,

Welcome to the forum.

Good question and one I'm sure will get lots of replies.

The cloth 'patch' that I have yet to find is the Great War 'DR' over 'Wheel'. This rare Motorcycle Despatch Rider patch has eluded me thus far.

What's Yours?

Cheerio & happy collecting,
Roy

Only 2 Chris,if my mind is still all there I recall seeing 2 for sale in the last 10 years.

I have one item that I would love.to have . A 1821 belt to the Rifle Brigade, known as "Fame" or "The Angel". There is supposedly also the same design with an "Eagle" on top and also a Victorian crown. I've never seen any sort of image or evidence to support either of these existing . I have a theory regarding the "Eagle"

Two items of equal significance to me, both embroidered name tapes:
  • Head Observer
  • Duty Controller

My great-grandfather's First World War medals. Sold at auction 30 years ago & presumably still residing in a private collection somewhere.

Who knows, maybe not 'can never get', but very unlikely I feel (on cost grounds if nothing else!).

WOW.

What a set, what a great shame they're not in the family still.

Never say never though.

Regards.

Hi Alan,
The one sold in Bosley's was not from the Hugh king collection, it was maker marked Stanley & Sons with blades (sold 30th January 2008).on my wanted list, but would need to win the lottery to buy it though .
Cheers,
Dave
